yin yoga

What is Yin yoga?

Yin Yoga is a posture practice. Each pose is held for typically between 3 to 5 minutes. It taps in to the meditative side of yoga with a focus on holding each posture to active the connective tissue and fascia.

What to expect

A Calm, quiet, dim setting.

Find your edge -Ease into each suggested pose. Find your sweet spot (feeling of a sensation) and hold. Listen to your body for what it’s telling you. If it allows settle into the pose even further for a deeper stretch.

Be Still-While holding each asana (posture). Try to remain still. Resisting

the urge to fidget or re-adjusting. Settle into each pose by relaxing your

muscles and letting the body weigh heavy.

Hold each pose- Try not to focus on the sensations you are experiencing

while in the pose. Focus on the breath and breathe through each asana as

you hold.

Slow Release- Try not to move out of the pose too quickly or aggressively. As you

come out of the poses use your hands to support your legs, or legs to help support

your arms.
